Construction Permits
Construction permits are required before any work is to be started. Construction documents and supporting data shall be submitted electronically through this system. The documents shall be prepared by a registered design professional where required by the statutes of the jurisdiction in which the project is to be constructed. All documents shall be of sufficient clarity to indicate the location, nature and extent of the work proposed and show in detail that it will conform to the provisions of this code and relevant laws, ordinances, rules and regulations as determined by the fire code official. Shop drawings for the fire protection system(s) shall be submitted to indicate compliance with this code and the construction documents and shall be approved prior to the start of installation. Shop drawings shall contain all information as required by the referenced installation standards in Chapter 9 of 2021 International Fire Code. It shall be the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the construction documents include all the fire protection requirements, and the shop drawings are complete and in compliance with the applicable codes and standards.
Operational Permits
Operational permits are required for anyone who intends to conduct an operation or business or install or modify systems and equipment that are regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be performed, shall first make application to the fire code official and obtain the required permit.
Other Services
Additional services and permits provided by Tomball Fire Marshal Office, not included in the permits above. Examples are State Licensed Facilities (Foster Homes, etc.), Boarding Homes, Non-Emergency Transport Ambulances, Fire Hydrant Flow Testing, and on-site consultations.
